When Leroy first arrived in rescue, he was unsure about nearly everything.

The shy doodle had spent much of his life isolated from normal experiences, leaving him uncertain about people, touch, and even life inside a home. Like many dogs rescued from neglectful situations, Leroy faced a long road toward learning what it meant to simply be a dog.

Under the guidance of his foster family and several patient canine foster siblings, Leroy has slowly gained confidence. He now spends time indoors, interacts with family members, and explores his environment with growing curiosity.

One of Leroy’s biggest milestones came when he finally decided that life inside the house was not so scary after all. What once seemed impossible is now part of his daily routine.

His foster family also helped identify a medical concern that initially appeared to be fear-related behavior. After consultation with veterinary professionals and trainers, Leroy began treatment and has continued to improve.

Recovery is not always measured in days. Sometimes it is measured in tiny victories that add up over months. For Leroy, every new experience is another step toward the life he deserves.
