Meet Cheyenne

Cheyenne, affectionately called Shy, is pure sweetness and convinced the whole world is her family. At ten months old, she is wonderful with kids and great with other dogs. She does well with cats too, though she cannot resist mothering them a little. It is her love language, and they get along just fine.

She can be a bit shy around men at first, but once she warms up, she is every bit as affectionate. Cheyenne is happiest wherever her people are. She still has some puppy in her and is making steady progress on potty training, but she is eager to please and learns fast.

In return, you will get a loving, devoted companion who leans her whole body into you and makes you feel like the center of her world. She loves curling up on your lap as though she is not 56 pounds of muscle, following you around, heading out for car rides, and taking nice long walks.

With her big eyes and even bigger ears, she is sure to catch your heart and never let go.

Cheyenne's Story

Cheyenne was found as a stray by the Orofino Police Department. If she ever held that rough start against anyone, she has long since forgotten it. In foster care, she has been showing everyone just how loving and devoted she can be.

Beyond the quick facts

Behavior Notes

Cheyenne is wonderful with children and other dogs and does well with cats, though she likes to mother them a little. She may be shy around men at first and becomes affectionate once she has time to warm up.

She prefers to stay close to her people and would rather not be left alone. She is making steady progress with potty training and needs a patient, consistent routine.

What adopters should know

Health & Special Considerations

Cheyenne is spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. Her veterinary records document DAPP with leptospirosis vaccination on September 8, 2026, and rabies and Bordetella vaccinations on August 25, 2026.

She was treated for neck stiffness and an ear infection after she was found. At her September 8 recheck, the ear infection had resolved and her neck symptoms were improving. Our adoption team can discuss that history and any current care needs.

The right match

Cheyenne's Ideal Home

Cheyenne will thrive with people who want a close, affectionate companion and can be around for much of the day or include her in their outings. A patient home that gives her time to warm up, keeps a consistent potty-training routine, and enjoys walks, car rides, and plenty of snuggles would suit her beautifully.

She can do well in a home with children, other dogs, or cats, with thoughtful introductions and supervision.
